Extract from my diploma "Baftă și Noroc", multi-sensory devices for transmitting oral family histories.
In my diploma project at ENSCi les Ateliers, I'm exploring the story of my family's emigration, from Romania to France, via 30 years of life in Africa.
I'm deconstructing my grandparents' oral accounts, isolating the emotions of the moments they experienced, and transcribing their story into objects
This object is about the lonely child, the child of emigration whose parents work late or abroad.
This object works in pairs, as walkie-talkies that enable two lonely children to communicate, under the pillow, in the dead of night.
To contextualize the object, I created an AI discussion between two children. The two children are “video game friends”: they don't know each other, but are best friends on the Internet. The discussion is gradually invaded by Daft Punk's “Veridis Quo”, leading the discussion into a world of nostalgia.
This project was conceived at ENSCi les Ateliers, under the guidance of Teddy Sanches, designer at Hall Haus.
