exploring plasticity and shape with high-pressure bending
The aim of this project is to adapt soft material inflation techniques studied by Emmanuel Siefert at ULB to metal.
This is a formal research into the hydroforming of steel, applying to metal the concepts of research into baromorphic plastic materials (anticipating the formation of a 3D shape from a 2D welding pattern followed by inflation).
Project in collaboration with Emmanuel Siefert, researcher in non-linear physics at ULB.
